The movie TILL

Been a little bit under the weather, that I forgot to write about the movie TILL!

TILL is a true story of Emmett Till, a 14-year-old Black boy who was visiting Mississippi from Chicago in 1955 when he was abducted and violently murdered by two white men, Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam, They were angry to hear that he had spoken to a white woman, Carolyn Bryant Donham, in a grocery store.

TILL is one of those movies that you learn something new every time this story is told.

I knew this TILL would be different, from the initial movie announcement and how the director promised not to show any physical violence against African American people. Those that did the crime had stolen so much already and I appreciated how the director focused on telling the story of a beautiful mother son relationship that was ended by a white lie.

Also, in this movie I really got a chance to see how the NAACP National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and Medgar Evers surrounded Mamie Till and provided strategic direction on how Mamie could use something so terrible and painful done to her son and show the world how hatred, racism, predjudice murdered a 14 year old black boy.

Finally, Danielle Deadwyler, the actress that played Mamie Till really did an outstanding job showing grace, pain, and strength. All of the cast Keith Beauchamp; Barbara Broccoli ยท Whoopi Goldberg; Thomas Levine; Michael Reilly; Frederick Zollo ; Jalyn Hall; Frankie Faison were amazing in capturing the essence of their characters.

I really think this is a must see!
